Elementary school teachers must select a "Speller(s) of the Month" at the end of each month. In selecting the student(s), teachers will take the following items into account:
• The student has performed well on "spelling bees", quizzes, or other such evaluations.
• The student uses the vocabulary words in his/her writing and conversations.
• The student has shown considerable improvement in spelling.

These students will receive their certificates following recess at the end of the month.
